Request Pre-Marital Counseling

Our Premarital Counseling consists of 5 sessions with a mentor couple, typically occurring once per month for 5 months. Upon engagement you should talk to a pastor about Premarital Counseling, or request it by filling out the form below.

However, in our experience, we have found that it can be very beneficial to begin the process of Premarital Counseling before engagement. Dating couples are strongly encouraged to complete the first 3 sessions of Premarital Counseling to help them move forward into engagement with strong confidence that it is God’s will for them to be married. More About Our Process

Who does the premarital counseling?

Your premarital counseling will be done with a married couple who has received special premarital training. These couples have healthy, Christ-centered marriages, and will share from God’s Word and their own lives about marriage.

You will work with the same counselors for the 5 sessions of your premarital counseling. Although these counselors are specifically trained in the area of premarital counseling, they are not professional, licensed counselors. They have chosen premarital counseling as a place of ministry at Every Nation Church.

What do we talk about at the counseling sessions?

You will discuss many subjects throughout your time together. These subjects include your family backgrounds, the biblical roles of husband and wives, communication, finances, the wedding ceremony, the honeymoon, your physical relationship before and after marriage, and children. Your relationship strengths will be discussed, as well as areas that need growth.

How much does this cost?

Our premarital counseling is offered for free for members and regular attenders at ENCS. However, there are a few resources you’ll need to purchase. Homework assignments are given prior to each session to enhance your understanding (and promote discussion) of the material. Our primary text is “Preparing for Marriage” available here. Since it is a workbook that each of you will fill out, you’ll need to purchase two copies. We also use on online relationship assessment called “Prepare-Enrich” which costs $35 per couple.

When should we get started?

The 5 sessions are most effective if you meet with your mentor couple about once per month. Thus you should fill out the form below to let us know you’re interested in receiving Premarital Counseling at least 5 months before your planned wedding date. NOTE: If you contact us with less than 5 months before your wedding date, we may or may not be able to accommodate your request for counseling through our church.

Due to our limited resources, at this time we can only offer Premarital Counseling to members and regular attenders of Every Nation Church. If you wish for one of our pastors to marry you, you must complete Premarital Counseling either through ENCS, or another approved source.
