Sunday School

Sunday School

Our Sunday School builds on themes that begin in the Nursery of modeling a loving atmosphere that extends the grace of God to our children in ways they can understand and emulate. Our ultimate goal is to create an exciting and interactive environment where we can instill in them a love for God and a respect for His word.

We welcome children from the ages of 3-5 years to join the Preschool Class and children from 6 and up to join the Elementary Class.

  • Lil’ Kids’ Club (Preschool Ages 3-5)
  • Kids’ Club (Elementary Ages 6-12)

Life Savers
Our Lifesavers team is a group of volunteers who are specifically certified and trained in infant/child CPR as well as emergency protocol. Though we trust this is something we will never need to use, to ensure our children’s safety, they are ready and available to respond to any 9-1-1 emergency that might arise.

Class Security
When you sign-in your child, they will be assigned a number and you as their parent will be given a wristlet with that number on it. In the event your child needs you during the service, the Nursery teacher will page you and your number will appear in red on an LCD screen to the left of the theater screen. Rest assured that if your number isn’t on the LCD screen, your child is having a wonderful time! The wristlet with your child’s number is also used as a claim check at the end of the service. For your child’s safety, no child will be returned without first receiving the claim check, so we appreciate you keeping yours handy. When you sign-in your child, they will be assigned a number and you as their parent will be given a wristlet with that number on it. Safety
We strive to maintain a ratio of one teacher for every five preschoolers and one teacher for every ten elementary students. Should the teachers need an additional assistant at any time they will page the ushers to bring in another teacher. The Preschool and Elementary classes meet in divided sections of the same playroom so that there are always two teachers present as well as a roaming assistant.

Potty Training

If your child is in the process of being potty trained, please help him or her use the restroom before coming to class. For your child’s privacy, should your child need assistance in the restroom during class, the teacher will page you to help.

Health
In order to keep our children (and teachers) healthy, we ask that children stay with their parents if they exhibit any of the following symptoms:

  • Persistent runny nose
  • Persistent cough
  • Fever in the last 24 hours
  • Vomiting or diarrhea
  • Unusual rash on the body or skin eruptions
  • Red or infected eyes

If you think your child might have one of these symptoms, we appreciate you keeping him or her with you during the service.

Memory Challenge

Memory Challenge is our monthly memory verse program that helps our children get excited about knowing God’s Word for themselves. Each month, the Preschool and Elementary Classes are given a verse to practice and memorize that which ties into the themes of their lessons and crafts. An example of the verse for Preschool Class might be “Give thanks to the Lord for He is good,” Psalm 136:1, and for the Elementary Class “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me” Philippians 4:13. Parents are welcome to practice the verse at home, at mealtimes or when riding in the car. The verses, as well as the theme and stories for the month, are emailed to parents each month so they can follow along with what their child is learning.
