Ria Martin

I grew up in the Philippines with a strong Catholic background. I thought I would go to heaven by doing good works, that I could buy my way up to Heaven. It was this verse, “Your righteous acts are like filthy rags” (Isaiah 64:6) that made me ask, “So what is pleasing to God?” I was 19 years old and a sophomore at one of the Universities in the Philippines, when I surrendered my life to Christ.

In 2005 I attended the Every Nation School of World Missions and became a full time campus minister in the Philippines. My first job was Outreach and Workshops Coordinator of Talents, INC., an outreach ministry arm of Victory (Every Nation) Philippines. We believe in discipling youth through the arts. In 2008 I met a group of performing artists from Seattle who were on a mission trip in the Philippines. I came to visit Seattle in 2009 and God opened my heart to desire to serve the young people in this city.

After 3 years of praying, seeking God, and several visits, I finally moved to Seattle in Feb. 2012! I am so excited to see God move in the lives of the students here in Seattle, and see Him turn this city from one of the most unchurched cities in America to a city sold out for JESUS!
