Youth Outreach Coordinator
Hey everybody! My name is Dave Stalsbroten and I'm the Youth Outreach Coordinator for Every Nation Ministries here in Seattle. I work in the neighborhoods of the Rainier Valley and Rainier Beach, where it's my goal to help urban youth & their families be in relationship with Jesus. I also seek to empower adults to become more involved in the lives of our young men and women through mentorship and community involvement.
BASIC STUFF
Where to start? I grew up in Anacortes (same house for 18 years!), and moved to Seattle for college. After a lifetime of hearing about God and seeing His love in the lives of those around me, I came face to face with my Creator and He changed me forever. My experience at SPU brought me into contact with a wide range of people, including the community I now live and work with in the Rainier Valley.
I'm passionate about seeing young people live in genuine, wholehearted relationship with Jesus. It's my desire that they would become mature, whole individuals who see their world through the eyes of Christ.
Reconciliation, generosity, and justice -- these are a few of the issues that I care deeply about. Each day I ask, "What will it look like for the Kingdom of God to spring up in our neighborhoods?"

INTERESTS AND FAVORITES
- Places: The North Cascades, Alaska, New Zealand, Asia, and Africa.
- What's on your iPod: Davis, Matt Redman, Hillsong United, London Symphony Orchestra
- Books: Abba's Child, Moby Dick, To Kill a Mockingbird, Brothers Karamazov
- What do you TiVo: Lost. But I don't have cable or sat, so I guess I don't TiVo anything.
- Sports Team: The underdog, which is usually the Mariners.
- Movies: Most, Last Samurai, Gladiator, Braveheart, Casablanca, Star Wars, LOTR.
- Hobbies: Skiing, rock climbing, running, biking, playing trumpet, reading.
- Odd Facts: I can stick my shoulder blades out pretty far.
- Book of the Bible: Psalms. Variety keeps life fresh.
LIFE SCRIPTURE: Psalm 18 -- the whole thing is bomb. "You, LORD, keep my lamp burning; my God turns my darkness into light... As for God, his way is perfect: The LORD's word is flawless; he shields all who take refuge in him."
