Campus Minister
Hi! I'm Bethany Suess. I work as part of the college ministry team. I am passionate to see students' hearts set ablaze with love for Jesus that drives them to an unashamed commitment to following Him and being like Him.
BASIC STUFF
I have lived a migratory life! I began my days in upstate New York (the most spectacular autumn you've ever seen). I moved to Colorado, the Rocky Mountain State, to graduate high school. I finished a BA in Southern California from Cal State Long Beach in Education concentrating in Language and Literacy. I had a taste of Southern living in Nashville, TN after college. After a brief stint in Vancouver, BC I moved to Seattle, WA in May 2006. My husband, Ryan, and I call Seattle home and absolutely love the Northwest!
I came on staff with Every Nation in 2006 after completing my ministry training in Los Angeles, CA and doing an internship at University of Southern California in 2005. I am so privileged to share my life, experiences and relationship with Jesus with others. The healing power of Jesus is indescribable...it is best experienced.
I love an adventure! I enjoy learning about other cultures, being active outdoors (cycling, hiking, running, snowboarding), dancing, being creative, making art, discovering healthy ways to make good food, writing, talking about God and life and so many other things. Most of all I enjoy people. Everything in life is better in the context of relationships.
EDUCATION: California State University, Long Beach -- BA in Liberal Studies/Education, concentration in Language and Literacy.
INTERESTS AND FAVORITES
- Places: A coffee shop on a rainy day. The park (with an ice cream cone) on a sunny day. The top of a mountain on a clear day. The beach at the end of the day.
- What's on your iPod: Jonny Lang, Marc Broussard, Hillsong, Ryan Suess, Corinne Bailey Rae, Misty Edwards, Tyrone Wells
- Books: The Hiding Place (read it 6 times and counting...), Abba's Child, The Giving Tree, I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings, Bruchko, the Bible
- What do you TiVo: I love LOST!!!! And anything on the Food Network.
- Sports Team: The Huskies? Seahawks! UC Berkley Golden Bears...because I married Ryan.
- Movies: I Am Sam, It's a Wonderful Life, Steel Magnolias, You've Got Mail
- Hobbies: Learning about other cultures, being outdoors, cooking, creating art, writing, going on adventures with my wonderful husband.
- Dislikes: Television commercials that whisper. Blue and green m&m's. Cliché phrases.
- Odd Facts: I blowdry my feet before bed to warm them up!

LIFE SCRIPTURE: Psalms 27:4 -- "One thing I have desired of the Lord, that will I seek; that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the Lord, and to inquire in his temple."
